I believe artists are agents of change, we have the possibility to alter the way people see the world, and how we think. I grew up in a wood working shop in Uriangato, Guanajuato, Mexico, my father was a farmer, carpenter and craftsman. So I was always around tools and paint and surrounded by an endless source of creative possibilities. When I was in middle school I used to sell drawings of soccer players and cartoon characters to my classmates, for 2 or 3 pesos each. That is when I knew I wanted to be an artist. I went to art school in Morelia Mexico at Escuela Popular de Bellas Artes of Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolas de Hidalgo. I wouldn't say I have a "style" per se, but I am interested in the aesthetics of hand painted popular graphics, underground comix, children's drawings, etc, I like the style and anarchy of outsider art, the aesthetic of the "Taller de Grafica Popular", and Mexican Post Revolutionary Muralism, Right now I'm based in El Paso Texas. Another thing that I like to do is to teach, I have been a teacher also for kids from 6 years old to 99 years old. Teaching, painting, printmaking, muralism, and sculpture.
